Thursday night Ajay had the idea to take me over to meet his buddy Jonny who had a redio show on Resonance 104.4 Arrived @ noon. Show started @ 1 p.m. Jonny already had a guest scheduled. He played one of my tracks on the air, and then afterwards asked if I'd record live in the studio for him. Sat down in front of a couple mics and talked and picked for about ½ hour. Over to Hanks after that. Picked another old archtop for a bit, met a young singer-songwriter named Scott. He was from Glasgow. Over to the Twelve Bar, and a pint. Bit of wander Stella and some pizza then back to the Twelve Bar. Andy had asked if I'd do a set before Vince who was the evening's host. Caught Chris ??'s set. Also saw Frank and John Devlin. Was supposed to only do 3 tunes but the folks that were there wouldn't let me get away with only 3. Late night grub something with lamb. Didn't get home until near 6 a.m.

Got off @ Templemeads. First stop was the Cumberland to meet Stu and have a pint or two. Passed through Thornbury proper with Robin (Harry's son) and his friend Karl in tow. Dropped them of. Hit the Anchor Inn for a pint. Stopped in @ the Off License for more provisions, then finally over to Harry's house. Beer and smokes then a pasta with lamb, salad, and red wine. More conversation. More smokes. Got out our guitars and did some pickin' while we drank some more. Somewhere near midnight, time to crash. Well worn out. Crashed hard.

Back to the Golden Lion. Met Alan. Introduced to Doug from Atlanta. Howdy again to Big Steve who I'd met the other night @ 12 Bar. Watched the fellows from Chinese Burn soundcheck and started in on a pint. Just after five, Aland and Steve started things off. From beginning to end and absolutely amazing evening of music that included a surprise appearance by Peter Case! For me, a real treat was being asked to play some slide with Chinese Burn. Great guys! Great band! Night ended with a set from MPE outta Philly! Super fun and amazing harmonies! Bus back to store Newington. Newcastle brown and some Bill Hicks with Sarge. Crash!
